Internal Quality Assurance Cell(IQAC)

The Internal Quality Assurance Cell of this institution was started in the year 2016 which is headed and run by vibrant faculties.   The IQAC plays an important role in monitoring and ensuring quality in all aspects of the institution.

The IQAC conducts meetings at the start of every semester and instructs the faculty on the things that are to the followed for effective teaching and learning process and obtaining standard outcomes.

  1. ICT tools should be used in the classroom for effective content delivery.
  2. Log books should be maintained properly which further helps in monitoring the progress of each and every student.
  3. The IQAC monitors the completion of syllabus by the staff for the respective internal tests.
  4. Internal tests should be conducted as per the University schedule.
  5. Question paper should be set in the prescribed format which follows Blooms taxonomy.
  6. The conduct of classes is monitored regularly and the outcome is recorded by obtained feedback from students and also by conducting class committee meetings.
  7. The IQAC also conducts frequent academic and administrative audits to keep in tract the effective resource utilization and infrastructure maintenance.
  8. Apart from students’ feedback, IQAC also obtains feedback from parents and stakeholders and works out appropriate corrective measures.
  9. It is mandatory for the faculty to submit a self-appraisal form at the end of every academic year to assess faculty development.
  10. As a learning outcome, class committee meetings are held twice a semester, and department heads are expected to provide result analysis reports with action done following each semester’s university examinations.
  11. Renowned people in the specialized sector regularly offer workshops and guest lectures to ensure knowledge enhancement measures.

To enhance teaching learning process, the IQAC of this institution

  1. Encourages and arranges for students’ industrial visit, in-plant training and internships.
  2. Aids students to organize and conduct seminars, conferences, webinars, quiz and alumni lectures to keep the students updated in their field of study.
  3. Creates campus and off-campus placement opportunities for students.
  4. Encourages staff and students to take up additional certification courses like NPTEL-SWAYAM.
  5. Encourages and enables students to participate in intercollegiate seminars, project presentations, paper presentations, and other technical competitions.
  6. Makes it mandatory for staff to present papers, participate in conferences, and faculty development programs.
  7. Insists to have best practices for each department with regard to teaching-learning process.
  8. Implements green practice in the by making sure that the campus is clean and green with Gardens, rain water harvesting system. This green practice is also spread to the nearby villages by planting saplings through IGEN club.  The students participate in this activity where they learn their commitment to nature and take it back to the society.

As quality is a continuous improvement process, the quality ensured is enhanced and updated at each level and made sure that no compromise is made.  Each and every decision taken in the IQAC is conveyed clearly to the faculty to avoid any ambiguity to enhance Institutionalization of quality and best practices.

Objective

The primary aim of IQAC is

  • To develop a system for conscious, consistent and catalytic action to improve the academic and administrative performance of the institution.
  • To promote measures for institutional functioning towards quality enhancement through internalization of quality culture and institutionalization of best practices.

Strategies

IQAC shall evolve mechanisms and procedures for

  • Ensuring timely, efficient and progressive performance of academic, administrative and financial tasks;
  • The relevance and quality of academic and research programmes;
  • Equitable access to and affordability of academic programmes for various sections of society;
  • Optimization and integration of modern methods of teaching and learning;
  • The credibility of evaluation procedures;
  • Ensuring the adequacy, maintenance and proper allocation of support structure and services;
  • Sharing of research findings and networking with other institutions in India and abroad.

FUNCTIONS OF IQAC

1. Development of Quality Culture in the institution
2. Development and application of quality benchmarks/parameters for various academic and administrative activities of the institution
3. Facilitating the creation of a learner-centric environment conducive to quality education and faculty Maturation to adopt the required knowledge and technology for participatory teaching and learning process
4. Arrangement for feedback response from students, parents and other stakeholders on quality-related institutional processes
5.Organization of inter and intra institutional workshops, seminars on quality related themes and promotion of quality circles
6. Documentation of the various programmes / activities leading to quality improvement
7. Acting as a nodal agency of the Institution for coordinating quality-related activities, including adoption and dissemination of best practices.
8.Annual report preparation.

IQAC MECHANISMS:

3. Subject allotment as per the specialization.
4. Preparation of lesson plan and lecture notes for all units in all subjects based on prescribed text books, reference books, web references and university question bank.
5. Frequent workshops and guest lecturers conducted by eminent personalities for the betterment of faculty and students.
6. Students are motivated to express their innovative ideas in projects.
7. Students are trained in providing soft skills from first year onwards.
8. Faculties maintain their individual log books for every subject and the same are frequently verified by HoD and Principal.
9. The class notes of the students are frequently monitored by the subject staff regularly.
10. Internal test results are analyzed and weaker are identified, counseled and providing assignments to improve their marks.
