The National Cadet Corps (NCC) was first established in 1666 in Germany. In India, the NCC was formed through the National Cadet Corps Act of 1948 and officially raised on July 15, 1948. The NCC’s mission is to develop character, camaraderie, discipline, a secular outlook, the spirit of adventure, and selfless service ideals among young citizens. Its motto is “Unity and Discipline.”
The CSICE NCC unit Is part of the 31(TN) Independent Company NCC, located in Ooty, Tamil Nadu, under the Coimbatore group. CSICE NCC began in 2002 and comprises 100 cadets per academic year. Major V. Prakash was the first NCC officer followed by Dr. Dominic Xavier and the current in-charge is Dr. Manoj Prabhakar B S.
CSICE NCC participates in various camps, social welfare activities, and events. Many cadets from CSICE NCC have taken part in national-level NCC camps across India, including the Republic Day Camp in New Delhi, Thal Sainik Camp, Annual NCC Camps, and other competitions.
CSICE NCC is proud that the cadets have placed in Indian Army and have participated in Republic Day parade at New Delhi.
