The Department, born with the institute in 2010, has dedicated itself to improving quality education, academic excellence and developing both community oriented and industry based research and consultancy. The Department is conducting B.E. Civil Engineering, M.E. Structural Engineering. The department has an eminent faculty team with specialization in Structural Engineering, Soil Mechanics, Environmental Engineering, Irrigation and Water resources, Construction Technology and Transportation Engineering. Our students have excelled in the Anna University exams and are securing Anna University ranks every year.
Students who have passed out of the department have shown merit and competence both in India and other countries. Our faculty members are presenting & publishing papers regularly in reputed conferences and Journals. The departments have been successfully carrying out sponsored seminars, conferences, non formal courses, and awareness programmes etc. The educational curricula of the department of civil engineering are designed to promote innovative knowledge and critical problem solving thinking in the minds of budding engineers to face their future challenges.
The department is very active in conducting conferences, workshops, short term courses, seminars and skill and training etc. Apart from academic works, the department of Civil Engineering is also involved in consultancy works like Surveying, Mix Designs, Soil investigations, material testing, Cube testing etc. Our clients includes District Rural Development Agency (DRDA),Tamilnadu Slum Clearance Board, Public Works Department, Municipalities, Southern Railway and Private agencies etc. The regular industrial visits and in-plant training are arranged with the industries like CSIR – Structural Engineering Research Centre, L&T etc to enhance the skill level of the students.
